How to make my Masonry Extension persistent?

Hi,

i had tp display also simple text elements without Images in the flat masonry portfolio.

By default only masonry-hover-description style is able do this. So, i extended in content-portfolio.php the flat masonry code with the behavior from masonry hover description.

Work done? Rather not!

How can i make my alterings persistent to prevent each time after a theme update to reimport my extension?

I assume the best thing would be, Be theme would import my little tweak? Or are there any other solutions?
